SFCC On Launch Of Paid Internship Program PILAS

SANTA FE Santa Fe Community College announces the launch of the PILAS Internship program (Programa de Internos, Los Alamos), a workforce development project that gives students the opportunity to work with local businesses to gain employable skills while earning an hourly wage and academic credit.

NM Student Scores Rise Across Board On PARCC … Though Most Lag On Reading, Math Benchmarks

ALBUQUERQUE  – Scores released Thursday show that students across New Mexico posted major gains in math and English language arts (ELA) on PARCC, New Mexico’s standardized exam to measure college- and career-readiness—but almost 80 percent of students remain behind grade level in math.

Tobacco Use Among New Mexico High School Students At All-Time Low

The New Mexico Department of Health (NMDOH) reports that rates of cigarette smoking by New Mexico high school students are lower than ever before – dropping by more than 50 percent over the last decade.

According to data from the 2017 New Mexico Youth Risk and Resiliency Survey (YRRS), youth cigarette smoking has dropped from 24.2 percent in 2007 to nearly one in 10 (10.6 percent) New Mexico high school students in 2017.
