Dear LA Schools leadership and Rep. Stephanie Garcia Richard regarding Thursday’s front page story in the Los Alamos Daily Post (here).
It has to be demoralizing enough to be a teacher working under PED, but today’s story about teachers being penalized retroactively for a rule that never existed (and which should never have been implemented anyway) has to take the cake.

LAPS Seeks 25 Students To Work On Tobacco-Free Campaigns
LAPS News:
The Los Alamos Public Schools Prevention Office and Evolvement are seeking students who want to decrease the harmful and addictive use of commercial tobacco in New Mexico.
Twenty-five students are invited to a training scheduled for the morning of Oct. 24 at LAHS where students will accomplish the first goal of the program. 
The training will include free lunch, the chance to win prizes and is open for youth in 9th through 12th grades.

LAHS Hosts 4th Annual Career Fair Oct. 19

LAHS News:
Los Alamos High School will host its 4th Annual Career Fair noon to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 19 in the A-wing lobby of the school.
More than 25 Los Alamos community members representing a variety of careers have committed to attend this year’s event, with more expected to sign up.
There also will be mock interview sessions and resume reviews. Students can enter drawings for prizes for attending and meeting with the career representatives. In addition, the LAHS food service will be selling lunch items prior to the start of the Career Fair.

SUZANNE LYNNEI was talking to someone the other day about life in Los Alamos. My friend asked me whether or not my husband and I intended to stay in Los Alamos when we retire (many years from now).
