Los Alamos Middle School Spelling Bee Winners
Los Alamos Middle School held its annual spelling bee Wednesday. The winners include Michael Aslam, first place (eighth grader), Eli Irakm-Bent, second place (eighth grader), William McTeigue, third place (seventh grader) and Anna Clark (seventh grader) as fourth place alternate. The top three students will attend the district spelling bee in January at Chamisa Elementary School. The Los Alamos Public Schools have received individual PARCC Score reports for students in grades 3-8.
The detailed student reports will help teachers and families further understand what students know and are able to demonstrate. Each student will receive one score report for English Language Arts (ELA) and one for mathematics.

Chamisa 6th graders. Courtesy photoThe Chamisa 6th graders are offering a day of babysitting 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at the Chamisa Elementary School Gym. They are earning funds for their R.O.P.E.s (Rite of Passage Experiences) field trip in May.
Go out for a day of shopping or just pampering yourself while they watch your toddler (please no diapers) through 4th grader. The cost is $5 per hour for the first child and $2.50 per hour for additional siblings, but since this is a fundraiser, donations are accepted.
