Registration for the next session of dog training classes offered by the Los Alamos Dog Obedience Club (LADOC) begins Dec. 7. 
 
This session will include Puppy Kindergarten, Basic Manners, Novice Agility, Self-Directed Practice, Scent Work, Rally Obedience and a new class “7 Weeks to a Cool Canine”, and will begin the week of Jan. 18.

LANL Foundation Extends Education Grant Deadline

The Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) Foundation has extended the deadline for Educational Outreach Small Grants to Dec. 15, 2015. Applications may be submitted online at www.lanlfoundation.org/grants.
 
Grants of up to $1,500 are available to support public schools and nonprofits with programs that strengthen teaching and learning in K-12 education in Los Alamos, Mora, Rio Arriba, San Miguel, Sandoval, Santa Fe and Taos counties. Grants are NOT restricted to programs related to STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math).

Chamisa Elementary School participated Nov. 12 in a World Sports Stacking Association (WSSA) Guinness World Record. The WSSA is trying to get 610,000 speed stackers in the world playing with cups in a 24-hour period.
