Governor Announces Funding To Hire, Support, Retain Math And Science Teachers In Underserved Areas

ALBUQUERQUE — Today, Gov. Susana Martinez will announce a significant increase in funding to hire, support and retain math and science teachers in low-income and rural areas in New Mexico.
The additional funds also will ensure that these teachers have the resources they need to help students succeed.

Community Bids Farewell To Rex And Dawn Kilburn
The community bid farewell to Dawn and Rex Kilburn at a party Wednesday at Trinity on the Hill. Rex taught fifth and sixth grade at Pinon Elementary School, then became assistant principal at Los Alamos Middle School where he later became prinicipal for the last six years. Descanso, the film written by, Christopher Garcia when he was 11 years old has been completed and is set to Premier at 6:30 p.m. Monday, June 1 at the Albuquerque Film and Music Experience (AFME).
