Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) and The Climate Change Leadership Institute (CCLI) are partnering to provide scholarships to support students pursuing Earth and Environmental Science Degrees on behalf of Dr. Jeri Sullivan Graham.
Dr. Sullivan Graham, a Los Alamos Scientist, is receiving the Conservation Grant Award from the Climate Change Leadership Institute and wants to pay it forward by offering this one-time scholarship to two students in attending colleges/universities in northern New Mexico.

Gov. Susana Martinez has announced a package of key initiatives to support New Mexico’s teachers, starting with increasing pay for beginning teachers for the second year in a row.

This new building that Los Alamos has built is beautiful!
One thing that surprised me about the new building was the architecture. The architecture around the whole school is just amazing and beautiful. Another thing that surprised me was the media center. The media center has a fireplace and couches so you can read quietly.

Learn about the extraordinary world of bats in a program at PEEC Tuesday, Dec. 9. Wildlife biologist Justin Stevenson will talk about the biology, ecology, behavior and importance of these beautiful and remarkable mammals. The program begins at 7 p.m. and is free to attend.

An instructor in the NJROTC program at Los Alamos High School has been absent from the classroom for several weeks, according to concerned parents who contacted the Los Alamos Daily Post.
Superintendent Gene Schmidt and Assistant Superintendent Gerry Washburn confirmed during a call this morning that Assistant Naval Science Instructor MSgt. Phil Carter “is not in the classroom at this time” but said he could not comment further because this is a personnel matter.
