New Mexicans Deliver Methane Comments To Local BLM Offices Around State

BLM News:

On Monday, in Carlsbad, Farmington, Las Cruces, Albuquerque and Santa Fe, faith and elected leaders joined parents, grandparents, scientists and other New Mexicans to deliver comments to Bureau of Land Management field offices.

The comments were among thousands from New Mexico and at least 200,000 nationwide voicing opposition to Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke’s proposed delay of the BLM Methane Waste Prevention Rule for two years.

AG Balderas Shuts Down Deceptive Veterans Charity

ALBUQUERQUE ― Monday, Attorney General Hector Balderas announced a settlement between 27 states and VietNow National Headquarters, Inc., an Illinois nonprofit corporation, resulting in the organization’s dissolution.

The states alleged thousands of deceptive solicitation violations against VietNow for misrepresenting its charitable programs to donors, including in New Mexico. The investigations of VietNow by Attorney General Balderas and other states led to the present negotiated resolution.

Parks & Rec Board Reviews Capital Projects Thursday

Capital projects for Golf Course Improvements, Ice Rink Improvements, Pinon Park Splash Pad and a Kiddie Pool that were moved forward by County Council at their Aug. 8 meeting will be discussed by the Parks and Recreation Board this Thursday, Nov. 9.

The Board is expected to make recommendations about the projects that will be forwarded to the Council to consider at their Council meeting Dec. 5.
