County: Bike To Work Events On Thursday May 16

Los Alamos County Public Works Department, the Transportation Board and Community Services Department invite the community to celebrate “Bike to Work” events Thursday, May 16.

Bicyclists are invited to stop by the Energizer Station 7-9 a.m. at the northwest corner of Diamond and Canyon for refreshments, snacks and bike related swag.

Water Breaks Occurring On Los Pueblos

COUNTY News:

Water crews from Los Alamos County Department of Public Utilities (DPU) are responding to multiple water leaks on Los Pueblos Street on Barranca Mesa.

Residents on the stretch of Los Pueblos from Chaco to the dead end are likely to experience reduced water pressure while repairs are being made.

No roads are closed for the work however drivers are asked to pass work zones cautiously.

SANTA FE – The New Mexico Supreme Court ruled today that state law provides for a rate mechanism that fully decouples or separates a utility’s revenues from its total sales of electricity or natural gas as a way to encourage utilities to promote energy efficiency.

In a unanimous opinion, the state’s highest court annulled and vacated a Public Regulation Commission (PRC) order that the Efficient Use of Energy Act (EUEA) allowed for partial – but not full – revenue decoupling.

Kirtland AFB And Forest Service To Host Ribbon Cutting Ceremony For Cibola National Forest Air Tanker Base

Kirtland AFB News:

Kirtland AFB – Kirtland AFB and USDA Forest Service will be hosting a ribbon cutting ceremony for Cibola National Forest Air Tanker Base 9 a.m. Friday, May 17.

The new Air Tanker Base on Kirtland increases U.S. Forest Service capabilities to respond to wildfires in the region.

Construction of this Air Tanker Base took roughly two years to complete and became operational on April 29.
