County Non-Eessential Government Facilities Closed At 2 PM Today Due To Hazardous Weather Conditions

COUNTY News:

Los Alamos, New Mexico — Los Alamos County Manager Steven Lynne ordered the closure of all non-essential County government facilities at 2 p.m. today, Jan. 4, due to hazardous weather conditions.

The Los Alamos Eco Transfer station also shut down today at 2 p.m. along with the other county facilities. 

Officials advise that the Atomic City Transit services, however, will continue to operate as scheduled. Residential and commercial trash was successfully collected today.

Due to forecasted hazardous weather conditions, Los Alamos County Manager Steven Lynne has ordered a delayed start time of 10 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 4 for non-essential government administrative offices. 

Some additional County services and facilities may also be affected:

There was very little stocking of rainbow trout this past week. The only ice-fishing reports are coming in from Hopewell Lake between Tres Piedras and Tierra Amarilla.

This high-elevation lake is accessible by hiking in from the highway or by snowmobile. Fishing should be good for stocked rainbow trout and wild brook trout.
