By George MorseThere is much to appreciate along the roadsides of Northern New Mexico this time of year. Because we’ve had some good rainfall, there is an abundance of wild flowers blooming along the road.
On a recent drive to Tres Piedras the roadside was filled with beautiful purple asters and colorful Gaillardia, also known as blanket flowers. The chamisa is blooming and the combination of purples, reds and yellows make for a dazzling display along the roadside.

SANTA FE – National Public Lands Day on the Santa Fe National Forest (SFNF) is Saturday, Sept. 30 and volunteers are needed to work on popular multi-use trails that need a little TLC. Or take advantage of the third fee-free day of the year to visit a favorite sites on the forest for free.
