NMED Confirms ‘Boil Water Advisory’ To Be Issued By Chaco Culture National Historic Parks Water System

SANTA FE  The New Mexico Environment Department’s (NMED) Drinking Water Bureau (DWB) is confirming a required “boil water advisory” for the Chaco Culture National Historic Park Water System.
 
Chaco Culture National Historic Park Water System is required to issue the advisory today after bacteriological contamination (E. coli) was detected in repeat drinking water samples from the water system’s distribution system. Chaco Culture National Historic Park Water System is required to notify all water system users of this finding.

DENVER — The National Park Service (NPS) has announced that Becky Burghart has been selected as the Site Manager for the Hanford location of Manhattan Project National Historical Park.
 
Burghart is the Chief of Interpretation at White Sands National Monument in Alamogordo, which is adjacent to White Sands Missile Range, home of the Trinity site where the world’s first atomic bomb explosion occurred in July 1945 as part of the Manhattan Project.

For Tuesday’s pace race, Sonja Behnke predicted well and was only 9 seconds off for her predictions for 3 miles.
 
There were 28 people who competed in the weekly pace race. The course was a fairly-flat 1-mile paved-loop mainly on Estante Way in Pajarito Acres. One could run any number of loops but with a requested time of 45 minutes or less. All distances from 1 to 5 miles were done.

There is much to appreciate along the roadsides of Northern New Mexico this time of year. Because we’ve had some good rainfall, there is an abundance of wild flowers blooming along the road.

On a recent drive to Tres Piedras the roadside was filled with beautiful purple asters and colorful Gaillardia, also known as blanket flowers. The chamisa is blooming and the combination of purples, reds and yellows make for a dazzling display along the roadside.
