NNSA Issues Floodplain Statement Of Findings For Electrical Power Capacity Upgrade Project

The National Nuclear Security Administration’s Los Alamos Field Office has issued a Floodplain Statement of Findings for the Electrical Power Capacity Upgrade (EPCU) Project at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL).
The EPCU Project would provide a permanent electrical upgrade for LANL, including poles with guy and anchor wires for overhead power lines, and electrical substation and switchgear upgrades. This month’s meeting of the Military Order of the World Wars (MOWW) is Tuesday, Aug. 19, in conference room 203A at the Los Alamos Research Park. Dr. Glen McDuff will be the featured speaker. He holds a PhD in Physics from the University of St. Andrews and a degree in electrical engineering from Texas Tech University, where he was also a professor. SANTA FE — Santa Fe Community College (SFCC) is accepting applications for its free Environmental Technician training program, which provides the training, skills and certifications necessary to enter a wide range of job opportunities in the environmental profession.
Applications will be accepted through Sept. 22, 2025. The free training runs 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, Sept. 29 through Oct. 31, at the Santa Fe Higher Education Center, 1950 Siringo Road.
