DEMING – Sept. 15-21 is National Child Passenger Safety Awareness Week. The campaign focuses on the importance of properly securing children in an appropriate car or booster seat.

Diamond Drive Crack Sealing Night Work Suspended Immediately – Work To Resume Monday In Daytime Hours
Night work on the Diamond Drive Pavement Preservation project, which began Monday, has been suspended, effective immediately, according to the Los Alamos County Public Works Department. Weather permitting, work will resume Monday morning, Sept. 16, and continue throughout the week until completed. The majority of work will be planned during the day. Motorists should expect delays on Diamond Drive.

Diamond Drive Crack Sealing Rescheduled To Start Tonight
Due to recent weather impacts, the Diamond Drive Pavement Preservation project has been rescheduled to commence tonight.
The Los Alamos County Traffic & Streets Division, in collaboration with Dismuke Contractors, will undertake crack sealing on Diamond Drive from the hospital to the North Mesa Roundabout.
In an effort to minimize disruption for the traveling public, this work is being planned at night. Operations are scheduled 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. starting this evening.

New Mexico State Police Investigates Officer-Involved Shooting Early Today In Santa Fe
SANTA FE – Sunday Sept. 8, 2024, at approximately 11 a.m., the New Mexico State Police (NMSP) Investigations Bureau was contacted to investigate an Officer-Involved Shooting (OIS) involving officers from the Santa Fe Police Department (SFPD) and a deputy with the Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office (SFCSO).
