SANTA FE — May is Wildfire Awareness Month and the New Mexico Department of Health (NMHealth) is urging New Mexicans to be prepared in the event of wildfires. Climate change has impacted New Mexico, with increased and persistent heat as well as strong winds.
Both these conditions lead to an increased risk of wildfires, which directly affects human health.
During the 2022 Hermits Peak/Calf Canyon fire, reported asthma-related emergency department visits increased by 52% compared to the same time frame in 2021. As we approach this wildfire season, it is important to know how Read More

Fr. Glenn: Taking The Truck Route
We had an ordination yesterday of a couple of guys to priesthood—always a joy-filled day, and a reflective occasion for priests who ponder their own priesthood and the privilege and duty that it entails. But, in the end, they pretty much end up at the same crossroads: what is real, and what is really important? What really matters?
So many persons are completely Read More

Fr. Glenn: Consequences Of No Consequences
Ah, warmer weather cometh, and with it the perennial onslaught of protests. Right now the cause de jour continues to be the conflict in Gaza with protests on the various college campuses and in some cities. Certainly young protesters love to utilize hyperbolic lingo, but mobs are known to take hyperbole and run with it. Might we see another Kent State Read More
