The FBI and Albuquerque Police Department are asking for the public’s help to identify a man who robbed the Bank of America at 2601 Coors Blvd NW, at approximately 11:25 a.m., Monday, Dec. 29, 2025.
Suspect description:
- Race: White
- Age: approximately 60-70 years old
- Eyes: Blue
- Clothing: Yellow construction vest, a black hoodie with the hood up and maroon sleeves, a blue surgical mask, and blue jeans.
The suspect entered the bank, implied he had a bomb, and demanded cash from a teller who handed over an undisclosed amount of money to the robber.

Los Alamos Public Schools On Two-Hour Delay

Los Alamos Public Schools will be on a 2-hour delay today, Jan. 9, due to winter weather conditions.
This delay will give our crews time to make sure parking lots and sidewalks are clear and safe for staff and students.
Buses will arrive at their usual stops 2 hours late. School will begin 2 hours late. Please be safe in your travels and watch for possible ice on roadways and sidewalks.

Cora Ortega passed away in the early morning hours of Thursday, January 8, 2026, at the age of 87 surrounded by family in the Española Valley.
Born in La Madera, New Mexico to Adolfo & Margarita Ortega, she was raised on the family farm in El Rito, New Mexico. In the late 1950s she moved to Española and worked as a celebrated cook for El Paragua, Matilda’s Café, Emilio’s Restaurant, The Chuck Wagon and The Roadrunner Café for 30 years. She loved to be in the kitchen and was happiest when she was cooking for her family.

With the recent snowfall, the National Park Service will ignite burn piles starting Friday, Jan. 9, on the Cerro Pinon Unit of Valles Caldera National Preserve. Smoke will be visible from the unit, located on the north side of Valle Grande.
Burning activities will continue throughout the winter months as weather and fuel conditions allow, and ignitions will occur only when adequate snow cover or moisture is present to ensure safe and effective operations.
