Join the Department of Cultural Affairs and Los Luceros Historic Site staff 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Monday, Sept. 8, for a trash pickup and light landscaping across the property’s gardens, trails, and riverside facilities.

Peter Joseph Walsh, succumbed to an extremely rare form of melanoma cancer in the early morning of August 31, 2025 surrounded by loving family.
He was born January 19, 1949 to Dr. Richard A. Walsh and Mary E. Walsh (nee Davis), deceased. The second of thirteen children, he was born at King’s County Hospital in Brooklyn, NY.
The family moved to Letterman Army Base when his father returned from the Korean Conflict for a Residency in Orthopedic Surgery. Then a residency in General Surgery took the family to Fort Knox, KY for a few years.

ALBUQUERQUE — An Albuquerque man pleaded guilty to using social media to issue violent threats against the President.
According to court records, between Jan. 2 and Jan. 4, 2025, Tyler Miles Leveque, 37, posted multiple videos and messages on social media threatening to kill then President-elect Donald Trump and others at an upcoming rally.

September Update For Los Alamos Golf Course
The Los Alamos County staff evaluated the course Sept. 4 for any problem areas and assessed its overall status for additional play.
Staff has confirmed that the front nine is holding up well and will be making a slight adjustment to the schedule.
Based on the golf course project management team’s evaluation of the golf course, the Los Alamos County Golf Course has announced a new schedule.
Beginning Sept. 24:
- An additional day for play – The golf course will open at 3 p.m. on Wednesdays, and all day Thursdays through Sundays.
- Full course opening – All 18 holes of the golf
