FBI Alert: Man With Gun Robs Santa Fe Bank

The FBI and Santa Fe Police Department are looking for a man who robbed First National Bank of Santa Fe today at 516 W. Cordova Road in Santa Fe.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male in his mid-20s, approximately 6′ tall, with a slender to medium build. The man’s face was covered by a black bandana with a white pattern. He wore a dark blue or black hoodie with a white logo and writing on the front that included the words “Santa Fe;” maroon sweat pants, white gloves, sunglasses and white tennis shoes.

Road Work Continues on U.S. 84/285 Traffic Switch North of Pojoaque

SANTA FE – NMDOT continues work on U.S. 84/285 just north of Pojoaque between mile markers 182.4 and 183.2. The scope of the project includes new bridge construction with new on and off ramps, new roadway lighting and pavement reconstruction for 0.72 miles within Santa Fe County. The bridge construction work is anticipated to be completed by summer of 2014.

SFNF’s Coyote Ranger District Office Opens

SFNF News:

District Ranger Andrew Vigil, from Santa Fe National Forest, announced this week that the Coyote Ranger Station has reopened. 

The office, located on New Mexico Highway 96 in Coyote, has been closed since early December when a break in the sprinkler system caused severe flooding throughout the building. Since then, employees have been working out of neighboring offices in Cuba and Espanola.

The Santa Fe National Forest’s Española Ranger District is proposing a 10-year shooting closure along the east boundary of the Caja del Rio, east of Santa Fe, to protect the lives and property of those who live adjacent to the Forest boundary.

Shooting a firearm within the National Forest is allowed; however, in order to protect adjacent property owners, the area has been closed since May 24, 2001.
