Poems In Honor Of 80th Anniversary Of End Of WWII

In recognition of the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II this month, Los Alamos resident John Eklund is sharing poems his mother, Frances Matilda Kramer, received during her time as a member of the Women Accepted for Volunteer Emergency Service in the U.S. Naval Reserve during WWII.

Eklund said his mother, a native of Los Angeles, achieved the rank of 2nd Lieutenant J.G. and was stationed at the Pacific Fleet administrative office in San Francisco. The poems, he said, were found after her death. Read More

Los Alamos Light Opera To Hold Auditions For Sister Act

LALO News:
The Los Alamos Light Opera (LALO) announces auditions for its March show, Sister Act! Based on the 1992 movie starring Whoopi Goldberg, this show follows aspiring singer Deloris Van Cartier as she witnesses a crime and goes into hiding in a convent. Hilarity (and music) ensue!
Auditions are 1-4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 15 and Sunday, Nov. 16 in Graves Hall of the United Church in Los Alamos at 2525 Canyon Road. Signs in the building will direct people where to go.
