The thrillls and chills of ChamberFest are set for June 8 in downtown Los Alamos.

The Los Alamos Chamber of Commerce hosts the annual event to provide an opportunity for its members to present their products and services to the Los Alamos community.

LANL Selects Three Small Businesses for Environmental Work

  • Value of up to $150 million over five years

Los Alamos National Laboratory has awarded a master task order agreement in which three small businesses will compete for environmental work worth up to $150 million over five years. The businesses each have offices in northern New Mexico.

The agreement is for technical services for the Laboratory’s Environmental Programs directorate and includes work such as environmental engineering design, regulatory support, risk assessment and reporting.

Local Distillery Achieves National Recognition for Bourbon

Los Alamos’ own Don Quixote Distillery and Winery is now featured in the Huffington Post. The online publication reviewed the company’s flagship product, Blue Corn Bourbon, which is the only one of its kind in the world.

The spirits critic highlighted the bourbon’s “vanilla notes,” and “pleasant sipper.” Another unique feature of Don Quixote’s product was the absence of a burn that most bourbons have.

This Blue Corn Bourbon Whiskey is made from 75 percent New Mexico blue corn and 25 percent wheat, and then processed in the Jemez Mountains.
