Breaking News: Hilltop House Hotel Goes Into Foreclosure

The financially troubled Hilltop House Hotel at 400 Trinity Dr., has gone into foreclosure.

Court documents obtained by the Los Alamos Daily Post indicate that Los Alamos National Bank filed for foreclose proceedings on its mortgage with the hotel Oct. 19.

Defendents named in the case include the Hilltop House LLC, Hilltop House Hotel Inc., Ronald Selvage, Hilltop House Spa LLC and Kim Selvage.

Fake Online Banking Security Alert Advisory

LANB News:

Los Alamos National Bank DID NOT send out a “security alert” email that arrived in people’s In Boxes this morning.

LANB Chief Technology Officer Paul Cook said the email is fake and has a fake address.

“We never send out an email asking customers for their email and password – we would never do that,” Cook said.

Cook advises anyone receiving the email to simply ignore it and delete it.

Otowi Station Bookstore and Science Museum Shop closed its doors a few days ago having served Los Alamos/White Rock residents and visitors for almost 20 years.

Before that, its parent store, Ojo de Dios Bookstore, served our community many more years.

The longtime manager of the Hilltop House Hotel and Conference Center has resigned.

Denise Smith ran the 79-room hotel at 400 Trinity Dr. for the last seven years.

On Friday, she discussed with the Los Alamos Daily Post her experiences in Los Alamos and her decision to leave.

“I don’t want anyone to think it’s the hotel – the hotel is fine – I miss my family and I miss my home,” Smith said.

Home is New Orleans. Smith lived through Hurricane Katrina in 2005
