Community Invited to Celebrate with Zia Realty Group Today!

ZIA REALTY GROUP News:

The community is invited to attend an open house and ribbon cutting celebration at Zia Realty Group, 1460 Trinity Dr., Suite 1.

The event begins at 4:30 p.m. today with food, drinks and entertainment.

Zia Realty Group has recently purchased REA and Los Alamos Properties and now has a combined workforce of more than 20 professionals selling homes and buildings throughout Los Alamos and White Rock.

Doggie Kissing Booth Returns to Friends of the Shelter Benefit Breakfast

FOS News:

The Posse Lodge Breakfast Sunday, April 7, will benefit Los Alamos Friends of the Shelter, a local non-profit organization.

It’s more than a Breakfast:

  • Bid on gift baskets;
  • register early for the 2013 Dog Jog;
  • enter a raffle for a $400 gift certificate for a 16×20 pet photograph by Don Taylor;
  • Josephine Boyer will do glitter tattoos (on face and hands); and
  • meet some lovely shelter dogs at a mobile adoption.

Bring your family and friends and enjoy the fun. We will also have a Doggie Kissing Booth again this year!

Executive Director Susan Mack of Los Alamos Family Strengths Network (FSN), spoke to a meeting of the Rotary Club of Los Alamos Tuesday.

Mack thanked the Club for its donation of $250 to purchase books for FSN’s Beth Ladino Family Resource Library.

The donation is part of the Rotary Club’s Literacy Project.

The Beth Ladino Family Resource Library houses 1,400 resources on a wide range of topics related to family well-being.

Rotarians Present Life Saving AED at Council Meeting

Puppy Kindergarten Classes Begin April 3

Calling all puppies!

Puppy Kindergarten classes are about to begin at the Los Alamos Dog Obedience Club.

These fun, informative classes for puppies ages three to six months help to start puppies off on the right paw and build a solid foundation for their future.

Puppies learn basic commands and build confidence by playing on agility obstacles and socializing with other puppies.

Puppy raising problems and concerns are addressed in the class, which meets 6:30-7:30 p.m. each Wednesday for six weeks starting April 3.

Registration Now Open for 10th Annual Clean Up Los Alamos Day

COUNTY News:

Residents can now register for the 10th Annual Clean Up Los Alamos Day scheduled to occur on Saturday, April 27. 

Log on to the County Clean Up Los Alamos Day webpage to register online or print out a registration form. 

Get your group or neighborhood involved in beautifying our community and preparing for wildfire season.

All community members who register to clean up a public space will receive trash bags, gloves and a participation prize.

Earth Day Planning Underway at PEEC

April is just around the corner – time to leave those winter blues behind and get out and explore. 

April is also the month to celebrate Earth Day 2013. 

This is the 13th year that Pajarito Environmental Education Center has sponsored an Earth Day Festival.

Put April 20 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on your calendar; plan to come and have fun at PEEC, your local nature center at 3540 Orange St.
