Since opening on N.M. 4 in early fall, the White Rock Tourist Information Center Complex has been packed with visitors daily, shattering previous attendance records for the White Rock facility as well as the Los Alamos Visitor Center at 15th Street and Central Avenue.
A monthly report compiled by the Meeting and Visitor Bureau shows 2,398 people visited the White Rock Tourist Information Center from its official opening Sept. 28 through the Sept. 30 month end. This is a marked increase from Read More

Come to the Pajarito Environmental Education Center, 3540 Orange St., from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Jan. 12 to learn about life in complex soil ecosystems from Leslie Dendy.
This informative and interesting class will look at pocket gopher teeth, earthworm hearts, and a cricket gizzard, and use microscopes to see the tiniest organisms that live underground.

Police Chief Shares Holiday Greetings

Los Alamos Police Chief Wayne Torpy is home from the hospital and told the Los Alamos Daily Post that he is mending well.
“I want to thank everyone and express my deep appreciation for all of the cards and notes and letters of support that I have received during my stay at the hospital,” Torpy said. “I just want to let everyone know that I am home now and doing well and I want to wish everyone in the community happy holidays.”
