Moonshadow is a friendly, playful older kitten. He and a group of his friends came into the shelter and their family never came back to get them.  

They all get along well in the communal cat room at the shelter.  

Moonshadow has his first kitten shots, is neutered and ready for his new family.

Public Invited to Saturday Book Fair at Fuller Lodge

LAHM News:

The Los Alamos Historical Museum and its publishing arm, Bathtub Row Press, are sponsoring a book fair from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 8 in Fuller Lodge.

More than 20 book publishers and authors from throughout the state are participating.

These book publishers and authors are excited about coming to Los Alamos because of its reputation as an intellectual community where people read books.

The Los Alamos Historical Museum and Bathtub Row Press hopes to make this an annual event and to eventually include writing and publishing workshops and other book-related pursuits.

LeadHer: Los Alamos Launches Sept. 12

LeadHer: Los Alamos News:

LeadHer: Los Alamos is a new, interdenominational Christian women’s group.

The first LeadHer Los Alamos meeting will be 6:30–7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 12 at the Mesa Public Library (Community Rooms upstairs) in Los Alamos.

The purpose of this group is to help women grow spiritually through revelation, inspiration and application.

LeadHer Los Alamos meets twice a month. The first meeting the women get together and watch a video teaching with a theme.

The United Way of Northern New Mexico (UWNNM) invites you to the 2013 Campaign kick-off.

Ruby K’s Bagel Café has been a part of Beth Bowman’s routine for the past seven years. Every Wednesday, after working out with friends, they all go to Ruby K’s for bagels.

She has recently joined the staff as a baker.

Bowman, along with Katherine Johnson (another Ruby K’s employee), is test baking to come up with a new line of cupcakes.

LAYL Seeks Dirty Cars for Fundraiser

LAYL News:

Los Alamos Youth Leadership (LAYL) members will hold a car wash from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 15 in the parking lot at Los Alamos National Bank.

Money raised from the event will be used on volunteer projects such as the annual Adopt A Family. Last year’s car wash raised about $350 dollars.

LAYL was founded in 2005. It is a program that helps students in grades 9-12 gain leadership skills that are useful later in life.
