Learn Local Wildflowers with PEEC

PEEC News:

PEEC’s popular evening wildflower walks with Chick Keller are starting again. The first walk with be 5:30 p.m., Thursday May 10. Participants can meet at PEEC, 3540 Orange St., to carpool to the trailhead. The walks are free and open to the public, with no registration required.

Bandelier Seeks Public Input on Management of Tsankawi Unit

BANDELIER News:

Bandelier National Monument is initiating a planning effort to improve resource protection and visitor understanding of the unique Tsankawi Unit.

The resulting decisions will provide guidance and direction for managing visitor safety, accessibility and resource protection for the next 10 years.

“We invite everyone who is interested in the future of Tsankawi to participate in the 30-day scoping period,” said Park Superintendent Jason Lott in a news release. Read More

Pancakes, Arts & Crafts this Saturday

The Kiwanis Club of Los Alamos is hosting a Pancake Breakfast on Saturday, May 5th at the Betty Ehart Senior Center from 7 – 11 am.  Stop by for a delicious breakfast of eggs, sausage and pancakes before heading over to the lawn at Fuller Lodge for the Los Alamos Arts Council’s Arts and Crafts Fair.  

The Los Alamos Arts Council has presented arts and crafts fairs in Los Alamos since 1967. The Kiwanis Club of Los Alamos was founded in January 1948. It is the oldest service organization in Los Alamos.

Sierra Club Presents “Revenge of the Electric Car”

Dog Jog 2012 Results

The 2012 Friends of the Shelter Dog Jog was held Saturday, April 28th.  Dog Jog sponsor Pet Pangaea has provided photos and results from this years jog. The 2012 Los Alamos Dog Jog was coordinated by the Los Alamos Dog Obedience Club, Mountain Canine Corps, and the Atomic City Roadrunners as a fund raising benefit for the Friends of the Shelter.
