ABC Suicide Prevention Class At Mesa Public Library May 4

COUNTY News:

          • Ask, Be Present, Connect – ABC Suicide Prevention Partner Class.

The community is invited to attend a free, 60-minute course that addresses how to prevent suicide. During the class, attendees will learn about the common causes of suicidal behavior, the warning signs of suicide, and how to get help for a person in crisis.

Certified instructor Kristine Coblentz will lead this class.

Los Alamos Firefighters Assisting With Riverside Fire In Española

COUNTY News:

The Los Alamos Fire Department (LAFD) crews responded to assist with firefighting efforts for the Riverside Fire in Española, which began Friday evening, April 24, 2026.

As of 9 a.m. today, April 25, the fire was estimated at 100 acres, and firefighting efforts are ongoing.

Reports came in shortly before 9 p.m. that firefighters were responding to a large brush fire in the area of N. Riverside Drive and W. Pueblo. Los Alamos County Clerk Michael Redondo certifies voting machines Tuesday at the Municipal Building in preparation for the June 2 Primary Election. The LAHS boys Varsity golf team traveled to Twin Warriors Golf Course on Tuesday, April 21, to compete at the Rio Rancho High School Invite. 

The toppers struggled on the front 9 and found themselves behind the pack on the turn. They found their groove on the back 9 with Lincoln Hoffer (So) holding it down at +1 and in the lead going to the final holes. The young Hoffer remained consistent securing a +3 (75) and tied for second place.

Los Alamos County Emergency Management will conduct a test of the County’s emergency notification system, Everbridge, at 12 p.m. on Friday, April 24.
