What is Alternative Water? 

Alternative water is used to offset the demand of potable water. Sources include rainwater collection and secondary water reuse, such as greywater.  

Rainwater harvesting is the collection and storage of rain from roofs and roof-like structures. Once the rain is on the ground, it is considered storm water and cannot be collected and utilized in the same manner.
