SANTA FE First Judicial District Attorney Marco Serna announced April 10 the sentences for two Vehicular Homicide defendants.
 
Yvonne Martinez pleaded guilty to Homicide by Vehicle (DUI) for a July 1, 2016 incidentand was sentenced to 12 years in prison and the court found that it was a Serious Violent Offense based on prior history and level of intoxication (.20).

Breadsprings Man Arrested On Federal Murder Charge

ALBUQUERQUE Troy Livingston, 18, an enrolled member of the Navajo Nation who resides in Breadsprings, N.M., made his initial appearance in Federal Court in Albuquerque, Monday morning on a criminal complaint charging him with murdering a Navajo woman with malice aforethought.  
 
Livingston remains in custody pending a preliminary hearing and detention hearing.

SANTA FE Thursday, Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham signed the Criminal Record Expungement Act into law. House Bill 370, sponsored by Rep. Antonio “Moe” Maestas (D-Albuquerque), would allow certain individuals to petition the court to remove their criminal record from public view.
 
This will allow people, years removed from their last arrest, the opportunity to get a job or a better job.

FBI: Navajo Man Gets 51 Months Imprisonment

ALBUQUERQUE A federal judge in Albuquerque has sentenced Thomas M. Navaho, 26 to 51 months of imprisonment based on his previously entered guilty plea to an assault charge.
 
Navaho, an enrolled member of the Navajo Nation who resides in Shiprock, was convicted of assaulting a Navajo man April 27, 2018, on the Navajo Indian Reservation in San Juan County. Court documents reflect that Navaho punched, kicked, choked and threatened to kill the victim because he believed the victim called the police regarding a fight Navaho previously had with another person.

Los Alamos County Council Calls For Letters Of Interest To Fill Probate Judge Vacancy

The Los Alamos County Council was informed March 15 that Probate Judge Anne Nobile would resign effective June 1, 2019. Nobile was elected to the position in the November 2018 General Election.  

The County Council is responsible for filling the vacancy left by Nobile’s resignation. SANTA FE Tuesday, First Judicial District Attorney Marco Serna announced the conviction of Christopher Owens for the brutal murder of Timothy Baca in Santa Fe during the Summer of 2017.
