Balderas Secures Guilty Plea From Ex-CEO Who Embezzled From Pueblo-Owned Business

SANTA FE ― The New Mexico Office of the Attorney General has secured a guilty plea from Donn Wiese, former CEO of San Ildefonso Services LLC.
 
Wiese embezzled $20,545 in grant money that was awarded to San Ildefonso Services, which is owned by Pueblo of San Ildefonso.
 
“My office is committed to protecting Native American populations throughout New Mexico,” Attorney General Hector Balderas said. “Our special agents and prosecutors worked tirelessly to bring Mr. Wiese to justice, and return valuable resources to San Idelfonso Services.”

Cyber Harassment Suspect Andrew Brown Released On Bond Pending Trial

A 29-year-old Colorado man has been released on bond pending trial in a case in which he was arrested and charged with false reporting and harassment in connection with alleged ongoing cyber harassment of a Los Alamos woman.

Andrew Brown was picked up June 18 in Colorado Springs, Colo., on an arrest warrant from Los Alamos Magistrate Court requested June 13 by Los Alamos Police Det. Ryan Wolking.

Email Accuses Los Alamos County Councilors Of Violating Ruling On Office Of Sheriff Duties

Los Alamos resident Greg White has sent an email to Los Alamos County Councilors accusing them of violating a recent ruling by First Judicial District Judge Francis Mathew in a case filed by Sheriff Marco Lucero almost a year ago.

White, who is running for sheriff, gave permission for the Los Alamos Daily Post to disclose the contents of the email, which tells Councilors it is “absolutely amazing that you all are violating Judge Mathew’s order already”.

Criminal Justice Public Safety Task Force Meets Aug. 8

ALBUQUERQUE – A task force will meet Aug. 8 in Albuquerque to continue work on a strategic plan for improving criminal justice and public safety in New Mexico.

The Criminal Justice and Public Safety Task Force will hear from Albuquerque Police Chief Mike Geier, officials of the Children, Youth and Families Department, Human Services Department and researchers at the University of Cincinnati and University of New Mexico.

Ashley Shaw, 32, of Los Alamos waived her preliminary hearing Friday before Los Alamos Magistrate Judge Pat Casados on two counts of trafficking methamphetamine for allegedly selling .8 grams of the drug in October and .6 grams in January to confidential informants for the Los Alamos Police Department.

FBI: Albuquerque Man Prosecuted Under Project Safe Childhood, Faces 25 Years In Prison

ALBUQUERQUE – Christopher Glotfelty, 36, of Albuquerque pleaded guilty Wednesday morning in federal court to production and possession of child pornography charges.

Glotfelty entered the guilty plea under a plea agreement that recommends that he be sentenced to a 25-year term of imprisonment followed by 15 years of supervised release. Glotfelty also will be required to register as a sex offender after he completes his prison sentence.

Judge Responds To White’s Request For Recusal
