Two cases of alleged cruelty to animals and failure to vaccinate were continued by Magistrate Court Judge Pat Casados Tuesday, one because a defendant, Dolores Montano, was ill and the other, Mary Wood, because the officer was not present. Both cases involve animals allegedly left behind at an Alabama Avenue apartment after an eviction last October.

Grant County Methamphetamine Trafficking Ring Member Sentenced To Prison

ALBUQUERQUE – Crystal Medina Gomez, 50, of Silver City was sentenced in federal court in Las Cruces to 30 months of imprisonment for her methamphetamine trafficking conviction. Gomez will be on supervised release for three years after completing her prison sentence.

Matthew Hudgins was arraigned in Los Alamos Magistrate Court Thursday on a charge of aggravated battery against a household member, disfigurement or impairment. Amanda Osborne of Los Alamos, one of seven people arrested March 20 during Operation Spring Cleaning, is back in jail for allegedly violating one of the conditions of her pre-trial release.

Probation Ofc. Linda Pena confirmed that Osborne is incarcerated at the Los Alamos Detention Center but could not confirm the cause of the revocation of her conditions of release, however, a police incident report indicates that Osborne tested positive for methamphetamines.

A Los Alamos man arrested Jan. 14, 2016 on a charge of sexual exploitation of children – possession, is on the calendar for trial in April in First Judicial District Court.
