Jazz Night came back to the Blue Window Bistro Saturday night when a full house enjoyed the Tom Rheam Trio from Santa Fe.

The Blue Window is a great place to hear jazz. The lights are low, the space is intimate and the conversations are muted during the music.

Ingredients...

1 pound of pork tenderloin, sliced on a diagonal
2 eggs, beaten  2 cup bread crumbs
2/3 cup oil
4 strips of bacon (diced)
1/2 onion -chopped fine
1/2 carrot- chopped fine
2/3 cup pearl onions
1 teaspoon worcestshire sauce
12-16 oz of fresh mushrooms ( i use a mix of what I can find), sliced
1 tablespoon tomato paste
3/4 cup dry red wine
1 tablespoon veal stock concentrate(can get it from whole foods)
1 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
1/2 teaspoon dried basil
1 bay leaf
3/4 cup of cream

4 heads of garlic, pressed
2 tablespoons of red chili pepper flakes
4 tablespoons of dried thyme
2 tablespoons of old bay seasoning
4 bay leaves

Jazz Night at the Blue Window Jan. 26

The next Jazz Night at the Blue Window is set for 7-9 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26 at the Blue Window Bistro, 813 Central Ave.

The restaurant will welcomes back the Tom Rheam Trio featuring Tom Rheam on piano and trumpet, Dick Hogle on drums and vocals and David Moir on bass.

Rheam has played on the road with Ray Charles, played backup to Frank Sinatra on recordings, toured with the Glenn Miller Band and many other well-known professional singers and musicians.

Hogle has worked in the Catskills in New York state as a show drummer, played on cruise ships and toured with the Jimmy Durante show/orchestra. Read More

1 1/2 pound of mushroom sliced (I like to mix and match, you get a better flavored soup)
1/3 cups butter
3 tablespoons flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup cream
1 (14oz) good chicken stock
1 tablespoon White wine
Fresh ground pepper
