NM Oil Conservation Division Hosting Rapid Hire Event

SANTA FE — The Oil Conservation Division (OCD) of the Energy, Minerals and Natural Resources Department (EMNRD) will host a virtual Rapid Hire event this month.

The 12-5 p.m. Dec. 15 event will be held via Zoom. 

The OCD is seeking qualified candidates for 13 positions related to orphan well plugging, remediation and reclamation, administration, legal and more. The position descriptions and necessary qualifications are available on the New Mexico State Personnel Office website.

Division Director Transitions At Energy, Minerals And Natural Resources Department

SANTA FE — The New Mexico Energy, Minerals and Natural Resources Department announced Thursday that two of its division directors will be leaving the agency at the end of 2022.

Oil Conservation Division Director Adrienne Sandoval has accepted the position of Air and Radiation Director for the US Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Region 8 Office in Denver. Dec. 31 is her last day with EMNRD. She has been OCD director since April of 2019.

Also Dec. 31, Mining and Minerals Division Director Jerry Schoeppner heads into retirement, wrapping up a 26-year state government career. Read More

LANL Among Nine New Mexico Employers Awarded 2022 HIRE Vets Medallion For Employing Nation’s Heroes

The U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) today recognized 835 employers from around the nation for their commitment to hiring and retaining U.S. military veterans during an online event broadcast from the department’s Washington headquarters.

Secretary of Labor Marty Walsh recognized HIRE Vets Medallion Award recipients this afternoon, nine of which are in New Mexico, including Los Alamos National Laboratory.

FTA Tribal Transit Program Awards $400,000 To Three Northern New Mexico Native Tribes

The Federal Transit Administration (FTA) has awarded three northern New Mexico native tribes $400,000 in grant money for projects that support transit services for American Indian Tribes and Alaska Native villages in rural areas.

The North Central Regional Transit District (NCRTD) submitted grant requests on behalf of Santa Clara Pueblo, which was awarded $140,000, Pueblo of Tesuque which will receive $140,000, and Jicarilla Apache Nation which will receive a total of $120,000.
