The days are getting shorter and cooler but the Los Alamos Arts Council is offering an escape to warmer air, sunnier skies and rolling ocean waves in Wednesday’s noontime Brown Bag Show at Fuller Lodge.

The show features Blonde Aloha, a duo made up of Patrick Markham and Eve West Bessier. The performers will sing and perform traditional Hawaiian music. They blend traditional Hawaiian music with hot jazz from the 1920s and 1930s as well as Beatles tunes.

Farmington Police Department To Host Second Annual National Night Out Event Today

FARMINGTON  The Farmington Police Department will host its second annual National Night Out event 4-7 p.m. today. Oct. 4, at the Farmington Boys and Girls Club.
 
The Helpful Heroes Junior Civitans will launch their Back the Blue campaign during the event, which is this year’s theme. Attendees will enjoy a variety of activities and attractions, including bubble soccer, face painting, a police pumpkin pick and demonstrations by FPD’s specialty units. District Coordinator Unit officers will give away several bicycles throughout the event.

Pajarito Mountain Ski Area, in partnership with the Los Alamos Ski Club will host Ullr Fest this Saturday, Oct. 1.
 
Ullr Fest is a community event honoring Ullr, in hopes of bringing a good ski season to Pajarito Mountain this winter. The event includes a brewfest, two concerts, a downhill mountain bike race, a disc golf tournament, and a costume contest.

Saturday’s Ullr Festival includes live music from noon to 5pm by JJ and the Hoolians, and Bronach Celtic Blues. The New Mexico Craft BeerFest is noon to 5 p.m.
