BLM Announces Selections For Leadership Positions

BLM News:
 
The Bureau of Land Management has announced two key leadership positions:
 
Kristin Bail will serve as the agency’s acting director; and
Jody L. Hudson has been selected as the assistant director for Human Capital Management.
 
Previous BLM Director Neil Kornze stepped down Jan. 20 with the transition to the new administration. Hudson succeeds Carole Carter-Pfisterer who retired from the BLM last month.

Heinrich Secures Agreement From Trump Administration To Not Vacate Management Of Nuclear Stockpile

Early planning paid off for those who wanted to see the Backcountry Film Festival this Thursday.

Pajarito Environmental Education Center (PEEC) worked with the Reel Deal Theater and local sponsors to bring the films to Los Alamos, and its popularity exceeded their expectations when it sold out Sunday evening.

NWS: Winter Storm Warning Until Noon Today

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch until noon today for the Los Alamos area. The NWS predicts today’s high near 31 with a 50 percent chance of scattered snow showers, some thunder also is possible.
 
Total daytime snow accumulation of around an inch is possible.
 
There is a 30 percent chance of scattered snow showers tonight with a low of around 14 and a new snow accumulation of less than one inch is possible.
