Los Alamos County employees have worked so hard this week preparing for Saturday’s 4th of July Spectacular event. Please consider taking your trash and recyclable items back out with you when you leave the event. The last time White Rock hosted 4th of July events the amount of trash took days to remove. Santa Fe National Forest Reminds Visitors To Recreate Responsibly This Fourth Of July

SANTA FE — Ahead of the Fourth of July holiday weekend, the Santa Fe National Forest encourages visitors to recreate responsibly, obey fire restrictions and closures, and do their part to prevent human-caused wildfires. 

As visitors celebrate the Fourth of July, remember that fireworks are prohibited year-round on all National Forest System lands. Fireworks, including sparklers, firecrackers, aerial fireworks and other pyrotechnic devices, can easily ignite dry grass and forest fuels, causing fast-moving wildfires.

U.S. Forest Service Seeks Public Comment On Proposed Rule To Modernize Directives System

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The U.S. Forest Service (USFS) is inviting public comment on a proposed rule to modernize its directives system—the agency’s internal documentation that guides how employees carry out their work.
