SANTA FE – New Mexico state health officials today announced 266 new COVID-19 cases.

Los Alamos County reports zero new cases today so the total remains at 505 people who have tested positive for COVID-19. (County totals are subject to change upon further investigation and determination of residency of individuals positive for COVID-19.)

Today’s update includes 11 new deaths in New Mexico related to COVID-19.

The New Mexico Department of Health reports today’s most recent cases:

  • 94 new cases in Bernalillo County
  • 2 new cases in Chaves County
  • 8 new cases in Cibola County
  • 2 new cases

New Mexico Students Offered Surveillance Testing For COVID … Goal To Test 1% Per Week On Voluntary Basis

SANTA FE – The New Mexico Public Education Department (PED) has announced that New Mexico public school students will be offered school-based COVID-19 testing opportunities as a further tool to enhance safety amid the continuing pandemic.

Student testing is completely voluntary and at no cost to students. Districts and charter schools will implement student testing programs as soon as possible but no later than the week of April 26.

Students who show proof of being fully vaccinated and students who have tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 90 days will not be asked to participate.  Read More

NMDOH: Majority Of State Turquoise … Progress Sustained

SANTA FE – The New Mexico Department of Health (NMDOH) today announced today the updated statewide COVID-19 map for the two-week period beginning April 7.
Twenty New Mexico counties are now at the Turquoise Level and three at the Green Level.
The majority of the state’s counties are now at or approaching the least restrictive levels.
Ten counties are at the Yellow Level as of March 24. None are at the Red Level, signifying the highest risk.
