Because deaths from Covid-19 do not begin to appear until about three weeks after the disease’s symptoms appear, the numbers of deaths lag behind the numbers of cases. For this reason, one can expect to see more deaths than have been reported so far.

SANTA FE – New Mexico state health officials have announced this afternoon 266 additional positive tests for COVID-19.

Los Alamos County remains at 16 cases that have tested positive for COVID-19.

New Mexico Environment Dept. Leads Majority Of State Rapid Responses To Businesses With Positive COVID-19 Cases

SANTA FE — New Mexico Environment Department Cabinet Secretary James Kenney joined Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham during Thursday’s press conference to share data and resources related to rapid responses.

The Environment Department is conducting more than 80 percent of the state’s rapid responses.

“Our Occupational Health and Safety Bureau has always ensured safe work conditions for employees,” Secretary Kenney said. “The Bureau’s role in rapid responses today is no different, and we continue to work harder than ever to protect New Mexicans in the workplace.”
