Jonathan Dowell Crosses 15th Finish Line At 2025 Iron Horse Bicycle Classic And 50 Years With Diabetes

On May 24, 2025, Jonathan Dowell of Los Alamos completed his 15th ride in the Iron Horse Bicycle Classic. This grueling ride from Durango to Silverton, Colo., is nominally 50 miles, climbing 6,000 vertical feet across Coal Bank and Molas Passes with two breathtaking descents. JJAB Awarded $500,000 Grant To Launch Free Mental Health Counseling For At- Risk Youth And Families

Los Alamos JJAB, a local non-profit organization, is excited to announce it has been awarded a substantial $500,000 Title II Formula Grant from the Children, Youth and Families Department (CYFD). This critical funding, which the JJAB Board of Directors voted to accept May 22, will enable the organization to establish and provide free mental health counseling services for at-risk children aged 10 -17 and their families, within the community, with program launch planned for June 2025.
