SANTA FE  Fire managers on the Santa Fe National Forest hope to take advantage of unseasonably favorable conditions, including fuel moisture levels, air quality and weather forecasts, to resume the Vallecitos prescribed burn on the Jemez Ranger District. 
 
Ignitions could begin as early as today on the final 91-acre unit in the Vallecitos treatment area adjacent to the East Fork trail head and N.M. 4.

DNCU Provides Warm Holiday Meals For Firefighters

SANTA FE—Del Norte Credit Union, northern New Mexico’s hometown financial co-op, provided warm holiday meals to many of the area’s on-duty firefighters Thursday, Nov. 23.

Delicious turkey meals with all the trimmings, purchased through an area supermarket as well as a local restaurant, fed five Los Alamos County fire stations, seven Santa Fe City fire stations, Ojo Sarco Volunteer Fire Department as well as Española Fire Rescue.
