Atomic City Transit Reminder Of Dial-A-Ride Service

COUNTY News:

Los Alamos, New Mexico- Currently Atomic City Transit is providing bus service for Route 1, 2M and 2T 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

For areas not serviced by a fixed route bus, Atomic City Transit is providing Dial-A-Ride service during the same hours. 

Dial-A-Ride service is curb to curb service with ADA accessible vehicles. You are welcome to call the day prior to schedule your appointment for a ride or you can call the administrative office at (505) 661-RIDE (7433) the same day for the next available pick-up.

Los Alamos County To Enhance Pedestrian And ADA Accessibility Along Trinity Drive From Oppenheimer To 39th

COUNTY News:

Beginning Wednesday, July 29, GM Emulsions will start construction along Trinity Drive from Oppenheimer to 39th Street.

The long-awaited improvements and renovation will provide better accessibility by replacing curb and gutter and installing ADA compliant sidewalks.

To perform this work safely, traffic along Trinity will be shifted around the work zone. Traffic control will include temporary shoulder closures and bicycle and pedestrian detours.

Please note that this schedule may change due to inclement weather or other unforeseen conditions.

Traffic Alert: Water Line Break 33rd Near Aspen School

COUNTY News:

Los Alamos Department of Public Utilities water crews are responding today to a water line break on 33 Street near Aspen Elementary School south of Villa Street.

Customers in the area are experiencing low water pressure.

New Mexico Supreme Court Grants Governor’s Request To Stay An Order To Temporarily Permit Indoor Dining

SUPREME COURT News:

SANTA FE — The state Supreme Court on Monday afternoon granted Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham’s emergency request to stay an order issued by a judge in Carlsbad earlier Monday that would have temporarily permitted indoor dining at restaurants in New Mexico despite the state’s emergency public health order and the emergent need to take all necessary action to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

As a result, all provisions of the state’s emergency public health order of July 13 remain in effect.

Even with the challenges presented by COVID-19, real estate continues to be a bright spot in the New Mexico economy.

“June 2020 sales numbers reported to the New Mexico Association of REALTORS (NMAR) surpass those reported for June of 2019 and reflect pent-up demand and continued low mortgage interest rates,” NMAR President James Russ II said. “2,334 sales were reported for June 2020 compared to 2,290 reported for June 2019.”
