At the Los Alamos Rotary Club’s Tuesday meeting at the Manhattan Project Restaurant, Rotarian Tony Chan gave a presentation about his family’s trip on the Silk Road, which included exploring Kashigar, Urumqui and Turfan . Just what do we mean when we refer to something unique about humans? 

All life recognizes other life, so that’s not it. Recent science magazines report that bacteria communicate with chemicals, so individuals can form mats or colonies, when there are enough fellow bacteria nearby. Communication doesn’t make us unique. Perhaps we assume too much.

Burglary At The Catholic Church

IHM News:
 
Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church at 3700 Canyon Road was burglarized sometime between Sunday evening and Tuesday morning. 
 
Culprits were able to manipulate the safe and obtain the weekend collection, so parishioners who wrote checks this weekend are advised to watch their bank account activity.  
 
The Los Alamos Police Department is investigating.
