Hi Los Alamos,
My name is Sue York and I am going to be writing the new food section, “Food on the Hill” of the Los Alamos Daily Post.

The Los Alamos Community Health Council (LACHC) is sponsoring a “Health Speak Out” Town Hall Meeting noon to 1:30 p.m., Monday June 11 in the Los Alamos Community Building on the corner of 20th Street and Central Avenue.
The goal of the Town Hall is to gather information from a wide range of health care consumers about their needs, health care experiences and recommendations.
LACHC will also share a summary of its 2011-2012 LACHC Los Alamos County Health Profile.

Bandelier National Monument has extended the public comment period on the management of the Tsankawi Unit to June 15.
Earlier this month, the park hosted two public meetings on the planning process.
They invited everyone who is interested in the future of Tsankawi to provide input on how best to manage the cultural and natural resources found there.
The Tsankawi Unit is an 826-acre area that is geographically separate from the main portion of Bandelier National Monument.

Bandelier National Monument, located in Northern New Mexico, will offer an amazing opportunity to witness a solar eclipse on Sunday, May 20. “The last solar eclipse in the United States occurred in 1994, this will truly be a once in a lifetime experience,” said Superintendent Jason Lott.

Young Life Los Alamos is hosting its second annual golf tournament May19 at the Los Alamos Golf Course.
It’s a Four Man Scramble Format golf tournament in which participants can create their own 4-some or be placed on a team.
All monies raised will go to benefit kids going to camp this summer.
This charitable event includes dinner, a raffle and prizes for the cost of $85 per golfer.
“It costs about $500 to send a teenager to summer camp for a week,” said Young Life Area Director Ryan Gilbert. “With the economy the way it is, we are able to offset that cost for families in need.”
