WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Energy Department’s Advanced Research Projects Agency-Energy (ARPA-E) today announced $60 million in funding for 22 innovative new projects aimed at detecting and measuring methane emissions and developing localized thermal management systems that reduce the energy needed to heat and cool buildings.

The deadline to apply for 2015 Los Alamos Employees’ Scholarship Fund (LAESF) awards is Jan 20.

The largest scholarship pool in Northern New Mexico, LAESF supports students who are residents of Los Alamos, Mora, Rio Arriba, San Miguel, Sandoval, Santa Fe and Taos counties seeking four-year degrees in fields that serve the region.

CEMRC Releases Final Summary Report On WIPP

The Carlsbad Environmental Monitoring and Research Center (CEMRC) has posted its final summary report regarding the Feb. 14 radiological event that occurred at the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP).

CEMRC is a division of the College of Engineering at New Mexico State University that provides independent monitoring of the WIPP facility.

Everyone is invited to attend the Los Alamos FIRST LEGO League (FLL) New Mexico State Qualifier starting at 9 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 20, at the Los Alamos Middle School gymnasium.
