GLORIA LOUISE CORDOVA July 31, 1938 – April 18, 2016

Gloria Louisa Cordova, long-time Los Alamos resident, passed away on April 18, 2016 after a 16-month struggle with pancreatic cancer.

Gloria was born in Trinidad Colo. on July 31, 1938. After high school she joined the Sisters of Charity of Cincinnati and graduated from their Mount St. Joseph College with a B. S. degree in chemistry. She taught math and chemistry in high schools in Denver and Trinidad, and then after leaving the community, moved to Los Alamos where she taught chemistry at the high school for 10 years.

James (Jim) Lowell Anderson, 77, of Boulder, CO passed away on Saturday, April 23, 2016.

 

Jim was born in Santa Rita, NM and grew up in the Grant County area of New Mexico and was a long-time resident of Los Alamos, NM. Jim attended New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, NM, and earned a B.S.degree in Chemistry in 1961 and a M.S. degree in Chemistry 1963.  In 1966 he earned a PhD in Nuclear Chemistry from Florida State University in Tallahassee, FL. DAVID W. CARROLL Dec. 3, 1947 – April 26, 2016

David W. Carroll, 68 of Los Alamos passed away Tuesday, April 26th, 2016 after a hard-fought battle with cancer.

He was born on December 3, 1947 in Portland, Oregon and lived in the Pacific Northwest until moving with his family to Los Alamos in 1955. He graduated from the Los Alamos High School in 1965 and the University of Northern Colorado in 1969 with a degree in Industrial Arts and Meteorology.

He worked at the Los Alamos National Laboratory for 42 years until retirement in April 2012.

June Perusek, 98, a resident of White Rock for eight years, died April 17 in a Greeley, CO, assisted living facility.

Perusek moved to Greeley in 2014.

Survivors include her daughter, Sandra (Ken) Johnson of White Rock.

PATRICIA NELL CALIFA June 20, 1953 – March 30, 2016

Patricia Nell Califa of Fort Walton Beach, Florida, passed away the end of March following her struggle with cancer. She had recently retired from a long career as an Executive/Legal Secretary in Texas, New Mexico, and Florida.

PAUL M. KRAEMER March 19, 1930 – March 24, 2016

Paul Kraemer passed away on March 24th, 2016 after a full and productive life.

Paul was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Huldah and E.O Kraemer on March 19, 1930. He earned a Doctorate in Public Health from Tulane University, and a Ph.D. in Microbiology from the Wistar Institute, a biomedical Center focusing on cancer research and vaccine development.

Samantha M. Davis died at home in the Sangre de Christo Mountains April 6, 2016 after a two-year fight with cancer. She was 58 years old and of the Christian faith.

Lenore S. Dudgeon died peacefully in her sleep on April 3, 2016 from complications secondary to cancer.
