Albuquerque police arrested a Los Alamos man Sunday at the Albuquerque International Sunport after it was discovered that he possessed a suspicious device in his carry-on luggage.

Police charged Jeremy Danielson, 40, with one felony count of possessing a hoax bomb or explosive, a charge under the state’s criminal code that surrounds intentionally placing, giving or mailing any false bomb or explosive with the intent that any other person thinks it is real.

Judge Sentences Former Los Alamos Pastor Paul Cunningham To Serve 12 Months In County Jail

Citing the lack of a prior criminal history, Judge Mary Marlowe Sommer sentenced former Los Alamos pastor Paul Cunningham to 12 months in jail followed by two years of supervised probation.

Cunningham, 54, was facing 4.5 years in jail for his crimes, but after he pleaded guilty to one count of possessing child pornography and one count of distributing it, the District Attorney’s Office recommended the lighter sentence and the judge agreed. Los Alamos Police Investigations And Patrol Divisions Build Case; Apprehend Suspected Thieves

LAPD News:

The Los Alamos Police Department Criminal Investigations Division and Patrol Division have been investigating several Check Fraud, Identity Theft, Theft, Forgery, Fraudulent Use of Credit Card cases over the past month. 

LAPD Investigators began putting together a profile that all the cases were linked and identified the potential suspects through their investigative effort. Then on Saturday, Aug. 27, the LAPD Dayshift Patrol “A-team” apprehended the suspects on a traffic stop.

Los Alamos Man Dies Near Roundabout This Morning

LAPD News:

Los Alamos police responded to the unattended death of a 48-year-old Los Alamos man this morning near the roundabout on Diamond Drive.

A passerby noticed the body of the bicyclist and called police.

Police said that they do not suspect the death was caused by a vehicle accident or foul play. They are withholding the name of the deceased pending notification of relatives. Read More

Bench Warrant Issued For Byron Henderson

Public Safety Alert:

Sheriff Marco Lucero would like to let residents in Los Alamos County know that an active bench warrant has been issued for convicted sex offender Byron Henderson.

Henderson was recently arrested on another warrant issued by the Los Alamos Police Department. Since that time, he was released and has failed to provide the Los Alamos County Sheriff’s Office with accurate registration information.

The bench warrant issued by Magistrate Court Judge Patricia Casados is for failure to comply with conditions of release.
