State Police Arrest Drunk Driver For 10th DWI

ESPANOLA― Around 8:30 p.m., April 26 a New Mexico State Police officer stopped a vehicle for multiple traffic violations on State Road 74 in Chamita.  
 
The driver of the vehicle, identified as Max Padilla, 38, of Espanola, emitted a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage and exhibited numerous signs of impairment. Padilla admitted to the officer that prior to the stop he consumed vodka and had ingested heroin.

FBI And Law Enforcement Partners Target Prison Gang In New Mexico – Seek Three Fugitives

A team of federal, state, and local law enforcement officers Thursday executed 22 arrest warrants (21 federal, one state) and search warrants on eight residences in connection with an operation targeting the Syndicato de Nuevo Mexico (SNM) Prison Gang.

Nine individuals were arrested by teams composed of Albuquerque and El Paso FBI SWAT teams, U.S. Marshals Service, and the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team. Another 10 defendants were transferred from the custody of the New Mexico Department of Corrections to the U.S. Marshals Service.

The Los Alamos Police Department Investigations Section is seeking the identities of two suspects in a theft of a motor vehicle case that was reported this month in Los Alamos County. 

The Los Alamos Police Department is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying the male and female suspects as seen in the surveillance footage.

Police Host Drug Take Back Day Saturday … Health & Safety Day May 7

The Los Alamos Police Department is hosting its annual Drug Take Back Day 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the following locations:

  • Smith’s Marketplace parking lot at 751 Trinity Dr.; and
  • White Rock Visitor Center at 115 N.M. 4.

This drug diversion program is a part of a national initiative by the DEA. The National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day aims to provide a safe, convenient, and responsible means of disposing of prescription drugs, while also educating the general public about the potential for abuse of medications.
