The District Attorney’s Office has dismissed the charges Tuesday against former Los Alamos Police Sgt. Jordan Redmond. The charges were dismissed with prejudice, which means the case cannot be re-filed.

Today, Chief of Police Dino Sgambellone released crime statistics for the first quarter of 2016, which were compiled by the Records Section of the Los Alamos Police Department.

Offenses reported as crime statistics are determined by the FBI Uniform Crime Report Program and are classified as crimes against persons (violent crime) and crimes against property. The offenses of murder (homicide), rape, robbery and aggravated assault make up the violent crime category. A Jeep exploded at approximately 10:17 a.m. today on Paseo De Onate, in front of Cooks True Value store in Española. The explosion rattled windows for more than a mile around the scene. Unconfirmed reports indicate two individuals were taken to the hospital.

Espanola Tax Preparer Deborah Quintana Indicted For Tax Fraud And Tax Evasion

TAX FRAUD News:

SANTA FE – A tax preparer from Espanola has been indicted for filing false tax returns and failing to pay taxes.

Deborah Quintana, 58, was charged with 28 counts of Tax Fraud and eight counts of Attempting to Evade or Defeat Tax, all felonies. These charges carry a maximum sentence of 55.5 years in prison and a $180,000 fine.

Quintana was indicted by a Santa Fe Grand Jury in the First Judicial District of New Mexico.
