District Attorney’s Office Issues Scam Alert

DA News:

The District Attorney’s Office is alerting residents to a scam underway in Los Alamos and surrounding areas.

The caller identifies himself or herself as an investigator with the District Attorney’s Office, talks about some case and says they need to clear warrants and collect money.

The District Attorney’s Office said residents are reporting receiving a call from the same telephone number: 505.221.3486. DO NOT call this number back, rather hang up and call the Los Alamos Police Department at 505.662-8222 or the District Attorney’s Office at 505.827.5000. Read More

Four local students have shared details of atrocious behavior they say is underway by a group of boys at Los Alamos High School.

They said the boys created an iCloud account at the beginning of the school year “that’s going on right now”. They post nude and semi nude photos of their girlfriends and classmates in the iCloud, which now contains explicit photos of more than 100 local girls. SANTA FE   As of today, six out of the 10 original Most Wanted DWI Absconders have been captured with assistance from the New Mexico State Police and other law enforcement agencies around the state.
 
The list of most wanted DWI absconders is available online here. Many of these offenders are also violent criminals who drove drunk and either seriously injured another driver or killed them, or they are repeat offenders who are at high-risk for causing a tragedy to occur in the future.

SANTA FE  State Auditor Tim Keller announced the annual list of New Mexico’s state and local governments that are considered “At Risk” based on the latest audit cycle.
 

The FY15 “At Risk List” contains 56 entities that have not submitted their audits by the deadline, including:

  • Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Management;
  • Department of Public Safety;
  • Martin Luther King. Jr. Commission;
  • City of Española;
  • City of Carlsbad;
  • County of Cibola;
  • County of Harding;
  • Town of Estancia; and
