July 29 at 6:42 p.m. / A 51-year-old Los Alamos man reported that someone stole his firearm on Grand Canyon Drive. The estimated loss is less than $2,500.

July 30 at 8:10 p.m. / Police arrested McKenna Archuleta, 18, of Albuquerque on west Jemez Road with possession of marijuana and issued her a summons to appear in court.

Bench Warrant Round Up Will Follow Amnesty Period To Encourage Parents To Pay Child Support

Lightning Kills Motorcycle Driver On US Highway 64

NMSP News:

RIO ARRIBA COUNTY – At approximately 2:30 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 1, officers from the New Mexico State Police responded to the scene of a single motorcycle crash. This crash occurred at mile marker 202 on US Highway 64.

The initial investigation revealed a 2007 Honda motorcycle was traveling eastbound on US 64 when the driver, identified as Juan Trujillo, 37, of Los Ojos was struck by lightning. Trujillo was not wearing a helmet. He sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Office of the Medical Investigator.

DEA Launches ‘El Chapo’ Tip Line … $5 Million Reward

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) has opened a toll-free tip line where the general public in the United States, Mexico, Central and South America can report any information that could aid in the apprehension of Sinaloa Cartel leader Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman-Loera, who escaped a Mexican prison in July.

County Encourages Residents To Register For CodeRED

A degree of confusion occurred last Friday when a juvenile thought to be armed was running from police in White Rock and the County initiated its CodeRED notification system to alert residents to stay in their homes until the individual was apprehended.

Some individuals received the CodeRED telephone call and thought it was a telemarketer and hung up – never realizing the possible danger looming outside their home. Juvenile Captured In White Rock Faces 14 Counts

The Los Alamos Police Department has issued the following details related to the juvenile apprehended this morning in White Rock:

Today at approximately 8:36 a.m., police responded to a possible trespassing issue in the 100 block of Grand Canyon in White Rock.

Police To Issue Statement On Juvenile Suspect

LAPD News:

Los Alamos Police Chief Dino Sgambellone said his department will issue an official statement regarding this morning’s seach and capture of a juvenile suspect thought to be armed and on the loose in the Grand Canyon area of White Rock.

For now he said, “Police were on foot pursuit of a possibly armed suspect in relation to an ongoing investigation. The youth is now in custody.”
