Neither arrests nor charges indicate a conviction, and neither means that a person is guilty of the charges filed against them.

June 11 at 10:10 a.m. / A 58-year-old Los Alamos man reported that he is the victim of larceny on 37th Street. The estimated loss is less than $2,500.

June 12 at 12:28 p.m. / A 31-year-old Los Alamos woman reported that she is the victim of identity theft on Kimberly Lane. The estimated loss is unknown.

Glider Crash At Taos Airport Leaves One Dead

NMSP News:

TAOS – Around 8 a.m. today, New Mexico State Police responded to a report of a downed motorized glider aircraft at the Taos Regional Airport. 

When officers arrived at the airport they discovered wreckage from a motorized glider aircraft. One deceased male subject was found with the wreckage. 

The deceased was subsequently identified as Herbert H. Waterhouse, 69, of Arroyo Hondo.

The Federal Aviation Administration will be investigating the cause of the crash. Read More

New Mexico State Police To Be Equipped With Naloxone To Reverse Opioid Overdose

NMSP News:

Beginning this month, New Mexico State Police (NMSP) patrol officers in Rio Arriba and Taos counties will be issued naloxone kits for use in treating subjects suspected of suffering from heroin or other opiate overdoses. 

Most commonly distributed under the brand name Narcan, naloxone is an opioid antagonist that completely or partially reverses an opioid overdose. Naloxone most often is administered via needle-less syringe through the subject’s nose.

State Police Checkpoints And Saturation Patrols Underway In Rio Arriba County Through June

RIO ARRIBA COUNTY — State Police are conducting Sobriety Checkpoints, Saturation Patrols and Registration, Insurance and Drivers’ License Checkpoints in Rio Arriba County throughout June.
 
These efforts continue to show a significant reduction in alcohol related fatalities. This is attributed to the continued media attention and intensive advertising. These checkpoints are helping to change society’s attitude about drinking and driving.

No Injuries Reported In Friday’s Two-Vehicle Crash

No injuries were reported in a two-vehicle accident around 3:30-4:30 p.m. Friday that bogged down traffic near the Los Alamos County Airport. Police said that the driver of a red BMW fell asleep and drifted into the oncoming traffic lane and collided with a Toyota truck. State Police Warn Of Warrant Fee Scam

NMSP News:

LAS CRUCES – The New Mexico State Police Las Cruces District has received numerous reports from citizens advising they received a phone call and informed they had a warrant for their arrest and were required to pay over the phone a warrant fee to clear the arrest.

The return phone number of the caller was displayed as the New Mexico State Police Las Cruces office.  

The New Mexico State Police wants the public across the state to be aware any such requests are a scam and we are investigating these calls as a criminal matter.
