May 28 at 9:05 p.m. / Police arrested Johnelle Romero, 21, of Los Alamos at 751 Trinity Dr., and charged her with shoplifting. The estimated loss is less than $100.

LAPD News:

  • Program offers opportunity to meet local officers, discuss community issues

On June 29, officers from the Los Alamos County Police Department and community members will come together in an informal, neutral space to discuss community issues, build relationships and drink coffee.

All community members are invited to attend the event, which begins at 8 a.m. at Morning Glory Baking Company, 1377 Diamond Dr.

Checkpoints/Saturation Patrols Across NM In June

SANTA FE — State Police will be conducting Sobriety Checkpoints, Saturation Patrols, and Registration, Insurance and Drivers’ License Checkpoints in all New Mexico counties during June.
 
These efforts continue to show a significant reduction in alcohol related fatalities. This is attributed to the continued media attention and intensive advertising. These checkpoints are helping to change society’s attitude about drinking and driving. People are choosing to not drink and drive. Snares Set To Catch Cougar Roaming Los Alamos

Department of Game and Fish officers are using foot snares to try to catch a dangerous cougar that has killed at least two dogs and attacked another dog this month in Los Alamos.

SANTA FE  Three New Mexico law enforcement officers, from three different centuries, were honored this morning at the New Mexico Department of Public Safety’s (DPS) Law Enforcement Memorial when their names were unveiled on a memorial wall.
 
The black marble memorial wall, which now lists 198 names, is dedicated to the memory of New Mexico law enforcement officers who died in the line of duty.
