Following an investigation, Los Alamos police obtained an arrest warrant and have charged Los Alamos Urologist Pavel V. Mourachov with two counts of aggravated assault against a household member with a deadly weapon, extreme cruelty to animals and harassment.

According to police documents obtained this evening by the Los Alamos Daily Post, Mourachov, 41, was arrested at approximately 2:15 p.m. today in the parking lot of Los Alamos Medical Center, 3917 West Road.

Local police issued a news release a short while ago detailing this afternoon’s arrest of 41-year-old Los Alamos Urologist Pavel V. Mourachov:

“On May 22, 2013 at approximately 2:15 p.m., officers of the Los Alamos Police Department affected the arrest of Pavel V. Mourachov in the south parking lot of the Los Alamos Medical Center at 3917 West Road.

“Mourachov was arrested on two separate warrants for charges of two counts of aggravated assault against a household member with a deadly weapon, extreme cruelty to animals and harassment.” Read More

Classes Canceled Thursday and Friday at Barranca

Superintendent Gene Schmidt has officially announced that classes are canceled both Thursday and Friday at Barranca Mesa Elementary School due to damage caused by this afternoon’s severe wind.

Family YMCA Executive Director Linda Daly has announced that the Y After School Program at Barranca is canceled Thursday and Friday as well.

The Los Alamos Daily Post will publish photos taken at the scene of the wind damage later today.

Breaking News: No Injuries as Wind Damages Barranca Elementary Roof

BREAKING News:

Early reports indicate that severe wind damaged a portion of the roof in the 200 wing at Barranca Mesa Elementary School a short time ago.

There have been no injuries reported. Emergency responders are on scene as is Superintendent Gene Schmidt.

The Family YMCA After School Program has been canceled for today.

At approximately 2:45 p.m. today, three cars were involved in a traffic collision on the truck route across from the Los Alamos National Laboratory shooting range.
